The FedEx lease is a red herring. The land is worth more for development than having a stadium sitting on it with a handful of major events per year. They were clever to get the Metro stop upgrade and new beltway interchange, which will enhance it's value for whatever comes next. The lease can be torn up at any time.

The bigger stadium story is that Snyder has the oldest and worst stadium in the division, and that cannot continue. The DC city council/mayor's office are chomping at the bit to get their hands on football tickets for their friends and family. We need a reason to pour a couple billion into a Metrorail upgrade. How do I tie those threads together? Olympics in 2024 with a grand new stadium at the old RFK site.[/quote]
