I have a close friend who is native american - and she finds the name offensive. You don't speak for everyone of NA descent.

I was born and raised in this area and have never considered the name racist or offensive. That doesn't mean I can't now understand why others do. At this point I feel the name change is imminent, but I would be sad to see it go.
