No, it isn't the same as adopting a child versus having your own, because we're not talking about people wanting to further their own DNA. And it should come up on these threads where we're talking about mixed breeds to begin with. People assume mixing two breeds that you'll get the best of both breeds. But it doesn't always work that way. And frankly, even a breeder can't control that (unless they've bred several generations, and even then, my guess is that there were a lot of pups produced that weren't what people had hoped for). If you want a mixed breed dog to begin with, go to a shelter, pound. [/quote]
