If it works for them that's great. They all went into this as adults and they aren't forcing their teenage girls into marriage nor are they forcing them into multiple marriage. Some of the girls say they don't want to be plygs and I can't see any of the parents holding monogamy against them.
No the grownups are forcing it on the kids. Polygamy is still illegal in the U.S. Since it overwhelmingly/exclusively involves women and is almost unheard of for husbands, the concept is nothing more than an archaic form of sexist repression. When applied abroad, it's invariably linked to poverty as some wives are abandoned and left to begging and other illegal professions to survive. So if you can't handle open debate on an anonymous forum like DCUM, don't start the thread.
I didn't start this thread. I was talking about the Browns exclusively. While the kids are raised in a polygamy I suppose you could say they are having polygamy forced upon them. It's no different than my parents forcing me to be raised in a monogamous household. Or their raising me Catholic. The Browns made these decisions as adults and aren't forcing their daughters into polyg marriages or into marriage at all. They are allowed to go to college and make decisions on their own.
