OP -- will the child still be a guest next year at the local level 4? Just wondering if it means they are keeping the status quo even if they aren't allowing him to go to the center. Might not be a bad thing if you and the child are happy where he is now. But, I agree that yours is a very peculiar situation.
(OP here) That's just it - we don't know if he will be invited or not. And even that invitation seems like it's too up in the air to be trusted. If they had an influx from the GT school because it is overcrowded (which it is, btw) he would be out. We will be appealing. I forgot to mention he got a GBRS of 15(!!) too... DS will be in 5th grade next year. His scores qualified him to be in the pool in 2nd Grade. Do you think he needs to take the WISC to qualify full-time given that he already qualified back in 2nd grade and has successfully completed full-time AAP in 4th grade?? Seems ridiculous to me. What else in an appeal would be good- what is important? More writing samples ? Latest Grades? Parent recommendations? On the Appeals Form, it also mentioned something about "reports of advanced academic services at the local school". I don't know if this is an official report or something we as parents point out. To be honest, I'm not sure they even understood that he was in Full-time AAP already (if only as a guest) and had already done very well in it...
