OP here. Thanks all for sharing. 17:20, I'm so sorry your mom said that. I call those Captain Obvious moments. To those who posted snarky comments, please just keep those to yourself. If you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything. Sometimes we just need to vent without judgment. Everyone on this board should be able to relate to that, right?
Thanks. I do realize it is not the MOST horrible thing anyone could possibly say to someone, and it IS Captain Obvious (as if I am not aware of my "advancing age"). However, my husband is out of town and my mother is visiting during that time. I had no one else to vent to, so I came to this board. We've been trying on our own for 3 years (we went to the clinic after a year, but for a multitude of reasons, didn't go through with treatments yet), and we just finally decided to give a couple rounds of IUI a try. I honestly have very few people to talk to about this - most of my friends have had 2 or 3 by this point. Once your first hits grade school, most assume you're done, or they give you the "why would you spread your kids so far apart?" lecture. To be 100% honest, I'd rather adopt, but my husband is not willing to discuss this until we've "tried everything else" (which thankfully he agreed, due my previous lousy pregnancy and a now pre-existing condition that only showed up due to my first pregnancy, is ONLY going through IUI's). And, of course, finances - none of these prospects are cheap and we aren't made of money. OK, done with my pity party - I honestly just needed someone to vent to yesterday, that's all.
