The lottery number is the number assigned to the child when his/her name was "pulled out of the hat." The waitlist number is the number assigned to the child after other children with preference were taken into account. Or so I think. If the "lottery number" was supposed to be a random number assigned to your child in advance there would be no need to list their name too. [/quote]
