My mother's first MS crisis (blindness, like you), occurred at 26. Luckily, hers is the slow-developing kind, and at 62 she can still walk around but not use her hands for any detailed work (writing, cooking, etc).
She was fortunate to meet my father, who supported her all her life. They were quite poor in their 20s, and we lived in a dingy studio apartment for the first 3 years of my life. Then life was good to them, mainly through my father's hard work.

You are in the significantly more difficult position of paying and caring for your own self.
