Because the highest bracket for married folk kicks in only slightly above the level for singles, and my husband's salary gets us there, all of my salary gets taxed at the highest marginal rate. So fascinating to see everyone defending the marriage penalty. And by the way, it's republicans that want to do away with it. You libs just don't want to admit that Obama is punishing working women, and Republicans want to help them.
