My MIL is like this, she's esttranged from so many members of her family and those that she isn't actually estranged from she complains about.  To hear her talk, someone is always doing her wrong.   She can be pretty critical of us, to our faces it's more passive aggressive but who knows behind our backs.  The difference is they live far away and don't like to travel so we simply don't see them much.  I think it's harder on DH's sister who lives closer and sees them more often.[/quote]
