Maybe because all of Trump's actions are designed to choke off China's oil supply? Venezuela, Greenland, getting them kicked off of the Panama Canal operations... China is getting backed in a corner and they know it, so if they go after Taiwan there's zero chance they sell us the chips. Maybe they use it as leverage for oil, if we're lucky.

FWIW, I think the general consensus has always been China attacks Taiwan in 2027. That's why Australia and Japan have been making military changes over the last few years. Trump has moved up the timeline.
