This is real. We once got a roach infestation while we were out of town. Still don't know how it happened, but we came home and there were so many. It was awful. I actually did not feel like it was that hard to get rid of them (got an exterminator in immediately, the worst part was having to pull everything out of cabinets and certain closets so we could treat inside, and then leave everything out for a while) and we were roach free within about 5 days.

But it was traumatic. We went to a hotel that first night when we got home until we could get someone in the next day, but I still dreamt about roaches for months. We also had a cat and a toddler at the time, and it was stressful worrying about keeping them out of rooms that were being chemically treated, and then I was paranoid about my toddler encountering a roach on the floor for a long time before I finally accepted they were gone and relaxed.

Once you know how to prevent and get rid of them, it's not that hard. We treat all entrances with chemicals seasonally, and also put down diatomaceous earth. Haven't had an issue since.[/quote]
