I think teenage employees might also be exempted? I know my teen did not make minimum working at their summer camp and I looked it up and they were clearly exempted. There’s actually a ton of exemptions. I agree it will accelerate use of automation at grocery stores, fast food and retail but that’s already been happening, and the immigration crackdown will also accelerate it. There’s a reason why Japan has been at the foefrpnt of a lot of this stuff replacing human labor with automation. I’m not sure it’s a bad idea for retail and fast food stuff — it is actually much more efficient and you’re much more likely to get the right order, and the younger generation really prefers to do things that way anyway.
