I used to to think this but I'm friends with several surgeons and they all say forget the MDs for botox and filler,  go to the PAs who are doing it all day. The actual doctors are by and large not doing continuing education or much volume in this space at all so it's kind of like thinking you'll get the best ear piercing from your GP. Can they do it? Yeah. Is it the gold standard? Not really.[/quote]

I heard a story recently about a patient in the ER demanding that the doctor insert their IV. Lol. Not a great idea. Could they do it? Yeah. Eventually after trying a few times. Do you want them to? Heck no, you want the nurse or phlebotomist to do it -- you want the person who does it all day.

That said, this isn't necessarily the same exact thing. Plenty of med spas out there hiring NPs who don't know what they are doing. [/quote]
