For that matter, is the silver line elementary school needed?
McNair and Coats are overcapacity by a lot. There are lots of townhomes and apartments near the new silver line stations and more are being built (even on Frying pan road near 28 entrance, so I think the population there will surely grow.
It will reliev3 Coates. But I only see one more new neighborhood. It's pretty built out except. For that plot around new school. There is still ongoing construction but winding down except for new school area.
That is a different plot of land designated as the “Silver Line ES.” Do note that McNair had its overcrowding relieved in the form of McNair Upper, previously labeled “Northwest County ES.” The existing McNair building holds grades PreK-2, and the new McNair Upper or “Northwest County ES” holds grades 3-6. This “Westfield ES” sits behind Cub Run Rec Center, in an area receiving little housing development as to the east of the site is essentially a large Business Park, and to the west is more rural type lands with a golf course and the Pleasant Valley Neighborhood.
