That is a different plot of land designated as the “Silver Line ES.”Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:For that matter, is the silver line elementary school needed?
McNair and Coats are overcapacity by a lot. There are lots of townhomes and apartments near the new silver line stations and more are being built (even on Frying pan road near 28 entrance, so I think the population there will surely grow.
It will reliev3 Coates. But I only see one more new neighborhood. It's pretty built out except. For that plot around new school. There is still ongoing construction but winding down except for new school area.

An area of approximately 13.7 acres in the northwest portion of the site, west of Cub Run, has been identified for a future elementary school.
FCPS has owned the property for decades. If they ever need the space for another ES somewhere near Westfield HS, they own the property. (In addition, it looks like Cub Run Rec and the park are on long-term leases from FCPS.)
And who knows, there could be another baby boom depending on future conditions.
that can't be true.

If everyone in the county had triplets then we’d need the schools built!
