I asked DD and she said they were talking about gifts for $25. And at some point one kid changed it to up to $25. I think this is a valuable life lesson for all of them - to be clear on the rules, not to change rules last minute, and if someone cannot afford it, to speak up. She said she liked and appreciated the hand made gift until she saw the other kids with multiple gifts. I encouraged her to appreciate the thoughtful handmade gift and she seemed to be okay and she also mentioned that next year she will think about it before participating. [/quote]
