We really don't have the time or need to concern ourselves with what others think when it comes to colleges. Your mother in law in Bangalore might not know anything about Williams, Amherst, CMC, and Middlebury for example but High Income families on both coasts know that if their child wants to go into IB, MBB, top law or medicine there are maybe 10 schools in the country which are their equals.
