“The little-noticed update on the court docket means the district will pay nominal damages of $50 and Doe’s accrued attorney’s fees.” What was the point of the lawsuit if the plaintiff settled for $50? There is no ruling about the constitutionality of the policy. The case just goes away. Sounds like a win for FCPS.
The attorney's fees will not be $50.00. It is a moral victory for the girl and all girls.
This is the second regular old boy in fcps taking advantage of the open gender girls bathroom/locker room policy at just one school, the only fcps high school right now where girls are brave enough to speak up. How many boys are doing this district wide? There are 25 traditional high schools in FCPS. Even using a conservative 2 boys/high school, that is some 50 regular boys in FCPS high schools using this policy to take advantage of girls in their intimate female only spaces.
