Here’s the psych sheet for KLI, which gives a comparison point for what it takes to be top 16 and get a 2nd swim at finals at these meets. I have a 13-14 swimmer going to KLI and in all of her events a sectional cut will be needed to make the A final. https://www.gomotionapp.com/pvma/__eventform__/1489909_b7ccbcaf-7cd8-47e2-aa13-c43d0d21776d.pdf
Holy crap. That is a MUCH faster meet.
KLI has long been a deeper meet. However, this year there aren’t the standouts at the top of the Winter Classic (State, NCAA, Olympic Champs) that there have been in years past.
Some of the fast 13/15 and senior Mako girls left for NCAP this year.
Many of the elite York young kids left. There isn’t a standout club from the northeast this year either.
Even after the departure of some strong swimmers, York still has the top-seeded 11-12 boys free relays in both 200 and 400.
The 11-12 age group in general seems to be the weakest at this meet. Looks like many teams are only bringing 13 and older swimmers. NOVA of VA is there this year but seems to be only bringing 13-14s. Some teams send different age groups/levels to different meets.
