She is on vacation on a tropical island with only her spouse and kids this Thanksgiving, instead of spending it with extended family, because she realized if she doesn't have a lot of time left, she wants to spend it having fun with people who don't require epic levels of patience and forbearance just to get through a meal. Also, does it never occur to people who write crap like this that there are awful people in the world, and they have family members who suffer through them at family events?
