Autumn in New England Cocktail: 4-6 Sage Leaves 25oz - Maple Syrup Muddle sage & maple in small tin. Add .25oz - Apple Cider Vinegar 1oz - Apple cider 2oz - Bourbon Shake with ice and double strain into DOF over large cube. Garnish with sage. Some folks don't add the vinegar. It can be left out, but I think that the added acid balances the drink. Perfect Thanksgiving cocktail.
We do this with a little bit of lemon - you do need the acid. And no sage, just a little cinnamon or pumpkin spice mix. 2 oz Rye (better than bourbon IMO) 1 oz Apple cider 1/2 oz Maple Syrup t tsp lemon juice pinch of cinnamon or pumpkin spice Shake in mixer with ice Pour over large single ice cube (you want it cold not watered down)
