Not 100% sure about STA, but it seems that the percentage of BVR boys that want STA is higher than the percentage of girls that want NCS so a few more BVR boys get left out of STA. In a class of 85 kids (typical for BVR) 40 boys apply to STA and only 30-32 get in. On the other hand, maybe 35 girls apply to NCS (as first choice) and 32-33 get in. At least this was what happened in my daughter’s year.[/quote]
