Even a lawyer who was still on the GS scale going to a law firm as an equity partner would barely be making 9x, and people low on the GS scale don't have the skills or experience to make 9x their salary.  If this is true, which I don't think it is, it's a unicorn experience.  [/quote]

I make about  9x ($100 K GS13 to $900K including bonus)  but it took about ten years in the private sector to reach that level.[/quote]
