And he really works hard with the kids on actual teaching—essay re-writes when he hands back a C which is pretty much an average essay grade- but then teaches what they need to do- gives feedback, etc. Also- first quarter are always the lowest grade while they are first learning. They do a lot if in-class writing. [/quote]
