I would not be concerned about MOCO not having enough setters at the tryouts. My DD is a setter and tried out for MOCO U14 team (she had one year of club experience at the time). She may not be a great setter but  she likely sets better than a beginner. She didn't make any MOCO team. Suggesting that beginners try out for MOCO at U14 level is simply poor advice. MOCO would happily take your tryout money, keep you on the lowest court, never invite you at callbacks, then brag about how busy they were at the tryouts.

MOCO keeps saying that they want to give everyone a chance to try out, but they complain about capacity. If they were really concerned about capacity, they could filter out some players who have absolutely no chance. They would use the courts for players with a realistic chance of making a MOCO team, and they would make a huge favor to the rest of the players who could focus on trying out elsewhere. [/quote]
