Yes, my office mate did not come in today because his toddler son had a fever and was vomiting over the weekend.  He tried to get a pediatrician appointment, but his pediatrician's office was still closed today, so he stayed home with his son.  And he's not the type to take off unnecessarily.  He had to take off a lot of time recently because he was going to be in a use-it-or-lose-it situation, so he took a number of half-days to cut down his vacation overage.  I fully believe him when he says that his son is sick.[/quote]
