I feel like a teacher wrote this. It's so out of touch with working parents.

The whole DC area seems to have returned to the office and has no telework whatsoever. I do not have leave for the 10+ random days off in addition to regular Christmas/spring break weeks and also wanting to take a family vacation. Push all these random days off together and let us go on real vacations.

What school districts should move towards is each kid getting 2 days that they can use towards whatever religious holiday they'd like, without an absence being charged. And keep schools open and running like normal. Only major federal holidays should be celebrated, not President's Day. [/quote]

I agree with you but would just contextualize that FCPS has always been this disrespectful and dismissive of working families in less privileged sectors that couldn’t work from home.  Oh you’re a nurse, sanitation worker, in food service or anything traditionally “working class”? Just WFH! Go to a fall festival! [/quote]
