CAT
hehehehe. +2 I would actually love to get another dog, but my lifestyle wouldn't allow me to give it the attention it needs right now. Someday! (My breed of choice is an American Pit Bull Terrier - the sweetest, most loyal, easy to train dogs but they require an outrageous amount of energy/exercise.)
Another pittie fan here! We had a wonderful pit for 14 years. She didn't always LOVE other dogs, and she positively despised cats, but holy moly did this dog love kids. I don't have kids of my own, so she didn't have her own little ones to play with, but in my parents' neighborhood this is a gaggle of little girls who she adored. They'd come over to play with her. I now have a pointer mix, who I think is my ideal dog. He is so easy going. He'll take ridiculously long walks with me (we've gone up to 15 miles together) but is also happy being a couch potato. He's big enough that I feel a little safer out walking him around at night. Sheds like crazy, is a little bit racist (horrifying), wants to murder bicyclists - so, yes, he has his downsides. But I adore this dog, despite those less commendable traits. I realized how good a fit he is for me when my husband and I were dogsitting for a friend's little corgi, who hates taking walks. Just refuses to go on them.
+1 for the pits!! She loves our baby and he loves her, and she is so snuggable. Hates most dogs though.
