If you use it more than once a week then I’ll assume you’re a lazy chef.
I'm not a chef nor am I lazy nor am I a chef (and neither are you  ). I commute 2 hours each way. My kids can quickly microwave leftovers I spent hours cooking over the weekend a lot safer than they could by using my gas stove top. Happy now?
My kids are generally happy to eat leftovers unwarmed. They also complain that microwaved stuff is cold on the outside and burning on the inside. Which seems to be true if you don't take some care with the settings. How old are your kids? By the time my kids were old enough to be left at home long enough to need to warm up their own food they were also old enough to use the stove.
One of my children is ASD ADHD and he can use the stove now at 16 of course. He cooks a whole meal by himself. When he was younger I absolutely did not trust him with gas. He never ever complained that his food is hot on the outside and not on the inside.
