Isn't that zoned for Bradley Hills?
Yes. I think so. It is very close to BHES. That’s a very good school. It’s a good neighborhood. Green tree is busy through that stretch and this house is bigger than the others on that stretch of green tree. It is a great location though so if you need a bigger property in the Whitman district it’s a good option. Also it’s not really a rehab place. It’s a long term shelter for women and children that is set up like garden apartments, and it is significantly set back from the road up a hill and behind trees. A lot of people in the neighborhood don’t even know it’s there.
One of those kids, a Whitman student who lived there, killed someone at the Target on Wisconsin Ave a couple of years ago.
There were actually three teenagers from the greentree group home in Bethesda involved in that murder. They were charged as adults.
I was under the impression that the group home they lived in was not part of the green tree complex. The same non profit runs both programs but I didn’t think the older teens in the diversion program were colocated where the women and children were. (And also, one of those thee teens was present for the killing and not involved in it and went to the police the next day to report the two who did it).
