They cannot live in the house with you. They can visit. You would have to ask the communities you are interested in. FWIW these communities are extremely nosy, almost all old white MAGA and I could never imagine living in one.
Is this true?
65+ I don't want to think it's true but I know from my parents' experience at their 55+ community in Florida that it wasn't so long ago that no one knew or cared about their neighbors politics, but this age group has been sucked into FoxNews and consumes hours upon hours of it so they've gone pretty MAGA. I can't believe my once liberal Massachusetts parents have the views they do, but it's all because of FoxNews. So yes, I guess it's probably true that whereever you have a lot of old folks, you have a lot of MAGA. That said, my parents living in a community that keeps them social and active is why they're aging so well and I would definitely want to do something similar when I'm 65+, for the health and wellness benefits. They're busy, have friends and keep moving, which is more than I can say for my ILs who are the same age but never get out and seem to be aging rapidly and health issues piling up. My parents HOA has a 3 week limit on visitors, FWIW. So I don't know what would happen if a college aged kid came home for the summer. But I can see a scenario where a helpful 19 year old could make a killing doing tech support and simple home projects in their community!
