If your cohorts are ESOL or the parents are not very educated, it can impact the educational experience is what all the threads here at DCUM are saying. I wonder where the kids with great experiences at Fairfax High went for college.
My younger kid’s year, FHS sent students to UVA, Penn, UNC/Chapel Hill, Michigan, and Georgetown. Many others went to JMU, Tech, and other solid schools. Please don’t believe the hype, and don’t sleep on FHS. Despite what you might hear from the crowd, students from all FCPS schools have advantages that others don’t get. They are among the best prepared when they get to college, too. I bet you will see this when your kids get there.
