It effectively demonstrates the ability to succeed across disciplines plus the rigor and focus on analytical writing, which helps with strong essays. 8 IB kids in DC's class got into Penn this year. And historically Georgetown has admitted a disproportionately high number of students from this program. For some schools (not all) I do think IB does give a boost, though it's annoying most don't give credit.[/quote]
