“Books are out of fashion”?
Funny/sad story. At a nice bar once, bookshelves on wall filled with various books. Parents come in with a kid, sit at table underneath one of the book shelves next to us. After a while notice the kid point up at the books. Parent takes one off shelf and hands it to kid. Kid pokes at it, looking at it. Parent asked "what are you doing?" and kid replied "Where is the power button?"
Jesus, we're doomed. Honestly, we're not spending enough time making sure the next generation is okay. I feel this way anytime I'm in a restaurant and the entire table next to us is on their phones - grandparents, parents, kids, etc.
It will be trendy to read an actual, physical book in a few years. Just wait.
It already is. I've noticed that Barnes and Noble has started selling really fancy hardbound editions of books popular with twenty somethings.
+1. Amassing tons of beautiful hardcover books is very much the trend on BookTok. Also, I don’t understand that story. My kids are young and very much of the internet age and yet would never mistake a book for an electronic device. Neither would their friends.
