Of course they do. Everyone wants to smoke their competition.  Can’t go 5-0 and not move up unless you’re losing a lot of top swimmers.

Oakton IS graduating a lot of top swimmers. They were strong in D2 but would generally be crushed in D1. [/quote]

Heard the same story when they were in D4- whining about not wanting to move up to 2. Then they did well in 2 and finished undefeated this year.

Respectfully, DR is only one of the teams in D1. The data is clear that Oakton would not fare well against the rest, to put it mildly. I understand your point that based on 2025 records and head to head match ups, you could swap the two. I guess someone has to be the sacrificial lamb of D1. [/quote]

Exactly. No one wants to be the bottom D1 team, but someone has to do it. I do not envy the seeding committee. I can't imagine how much effort they put into seeding. [/quote]

OKM here. I know nobody seems to want to believe this, but we are better this year because the majority of our swimmers are in their up year. Next year will be more like 2024. This season was so fun and competitive, but we don’t have the depth that the other D1 teams have to make up for our even-year younger-side athletes. Oakton and OKM may be hanging together in the D1 basement, but we will do our best! :)[/quote]
