I cheat and buy those prepared rolls from Safeway (nestles or pillsbury). I think when they're on sale -- they're cheaper than all the way homemade. You can add your own touches.
You are the bane of the cookie exchange. I don't want to spend time making real cookies only to swap with a slug who throws a processed log on a cookie sheet and calls it a day. Plus, those tube cookie taste like crap. Though at least you're not as bad as the people who pick up a box of Safeway sprinkle cookies to bring.
+1 I'm normally not a snot about things like this, but it pisses me off. The cookie part tastes nasty, and the whole joy of an exchange is the wonderful variety of interesting cookies you get to try. The other cookie I can't stand is the peanut butter Hershey's kiss cookie. They must be easy to make because at least three or four people always bring them. But at lteas they're homemade.
