Even people who own without a mortgage will be able to save money by moving.[/quote] Some people will definitely be forced to sell but, like Covid, large homes and ADUs provide the opportunity for multi-generational living and sharing living spaces and expenses with people outside your nuclear family. My next door neighbor recently did a gut renovation that included separate living spaces and an elevator. His single daughter just moved back after college. Another neighbor took out his front lawn and installed an attractive motor court that accommodates two more cars without blocking the main garage. [/quote]
