It's amazing how often I've met women who call themselves blonde but aren't. I suspect a lot of them must have been true blondes as children, received too many compliments about it, and will now chase that color all their lives. OP, you're trying to dye your hair a color that's very different from your actual shade. Like the rest of the population who does the same thing, especially the portion of older women who need to hide their white or grey hair for professional purposes, you have to deal with roots.
