With regard to one of the issues raised by posters at 13:34 and 13:55, I am well aware at this point that I don't know what college will be a good fit for my child.   That's why I've started this thread.    I know that elite kids from Wilson - from any school - get into iIvies.  And I know there are kids at Wilson who won't graduate or won't go on to college.

So what I'm trying to find out is what happens to the smart but not elite kids in between?  Kids who get decent but not incredible grades...kids who do OK on SATs, but not in the top 1%...kids that are good at some stuff, but not good at others.   What I want to know is whether kids like this that go to Wilson end up with the opportunity to attend a high-quality college that will be a good fit for them.

There has been some constructive answers to this question, and I appreciate them.  If anyone else has experience or info to share, I would appreciate it.
