Just announced by Commonwealth’s Governor Youngkin: 1,000 more illegal aliens have been rounded up by a joint task force of the Commonwealth and the A.G.: https://www.13newsnow.com/video/news/local/virginia/bondi-gov-youngkin-virginia-task-force-arrests-1000-criminal-illegal-aliens This is only the beginning. If you are in the U.S. illegally, you just have to go back.
Yeah, you can do your own roofing and landscaping from now on. So dumb!
Your argument is: “but who will pick the cotton?”
Is your argument: "We don't need fresh fruits or vegetables"?
Why is it that every single other country in the world with far lower levels of illegal immigration are perfectly capable of picking and growing their own food? Look at countries like South Korea to Japan, which have almost zero illegal immigration compared to the US. Somehow they're capable of producing enough food at very affordable prices that are often cheaper than even the US. How is it that they're capable of doing all of that without hordes of illegal immigration? You're just regurgitating big AG lobbyists' talking points who want to undercut American labor in order to drive up their stock prices.
Those countries import a lot of foods (SK 70%; JP 60%). In contrast, we import 15% of our food. And with our current trade war started by your illustrious leader, imported foods would be pricey. Also, wages in those countries for farm workers are super low (< $10/hour). Should we pay Americans $7.50 for back breaking farm jobs? Also, those countries have cheaper healthcare and higher taxes. Should we do that here? I think people who think we can pick and choose policies that work in other countries without looking at it holistically are naive.
