I had wanted to get a lab mix, but now that I've experienced my shepherd, I don't think I'm ever going back. He's super laid back when inside, filled with shear joy when loping through the woods outside, sweet as could be with our kids, very responsive to commands, and has enabled me to do things I wouldn't have felt safe doing without him by my side (solo camping, long runs at dusk, etc).
