I had to reduce running to fit in strength training but find I still need at least a couple short runs a week outdoors just to maintain sanity. In summer I like to go at dusk if feasible. You don't have to make a full switch, just drop back and switch it up a but. It will probably take a couple weeks to work back up to your winter distance/times, but then it will be fall and that will be fun!
It's SO hot at dusk.
Yeah but I find direct sunlight to be worse than humidity. Plus I like seeing the fireflies for the few weeks they're out, and the street lamps turning on, and it's a nice way to decompress from the work day. Dawn is a little cooler but my legs are stiff and I have no motivation then. I actually enjoy evening runs.
NP, I love the transition from hot dusk and ending a little cooler, with the frogs and fireflies. Then I go home and have a cold beer on the swing set while I cool off.
