Isn’t there a chopt like four blocks from there? The key is to order ahead.
I’ve done this a couple time but it’s a solid 15 minute walk each way and I do end up pretty sweaty. Not something I can do regularly, especially because taking that long for lunch is not generally feasible. I do bring lunch sometimes but it’s a pain. I have a teenaged son that Hoovers down all leftovers in the middle of the night. I’m not a morning person and usually rushed plus I walk/metro in so don’t really want to increase the weight of what I carry with glass microwave containers etc. some days o just bring an apple and a protein bar or whatever. Clearly it’s not an impossible burden, but getting lunch out was my splurge from my 40s (after brown bagging it most of my 20s and 30s). I’m telling DC that I have the money to spend and would gladly spend it if I had more decent options. We used to have two Prets, a corner bakery, a Naan and Beyond, two cosis, WTF food counter, a falafal place, &pizza and some others I’m forgetting, all within 1-2 blocks. That’s all gone now.
Keep a ceramic bowl and plate at work, then you can pack in plastic and microwave in ceramic.
