I feel the number of phone interviews is too high based on what I've seen.  Also, although the pay is high for an outside the DMV job.  It's hard to tell how high up this job is.  It might be more normal for DMV IT.  More scrutiny would be given to an upper-level hire.

It is important to recognize that OP hasn't strolled right into this job.  I am angered that our economy doesn't effectively repurpose mid-career people and so many go unemployed and under-employed for so long.  I would pay for myself to go to college again if I thought I had a chance of being able to start on another type of career arc without discrimination. [/quote]
