https://www.jsonline.com/story/news/local/2025/04/10/venezuelan-man-sent-to-salvadoran-prison-by-former-milwaukee-cop/83023641007/ This is pretty insane.
This is heart-breaking. I can't believe the US we have fallen so low. How can any Trump supporter read this and not feel deeply ashamed?
It is not heartbreaking. Have you even read a single account of what these gang members do to their victims? Hands chopped off with machetes. Sex-trafficking and forced prostitution of girls as young as 12. Fentanyl dealing in our schools. You prefer to keep these people here in the USA to victimize your daughter or son??
PP, respectfully. You are changing the subject. I am not talking about convicted criminals, who WE ALL AGREE should be in jail. I am talking about asylum seekers who have passed their Credible Fear Interview. (And I would wager a lot of money that I have read more accounts of gang violence than you have. I have a PhD and have studied Latin American gangs.) In the United States, we believe in due process. The Consitution guarantees it. The Supreme Court has upheld the right to due process - yes, yes, even for the undocumented! - many times. I repeat: I am not talking about gang members. I am talking about asylum seekers. The most you can possibly call them is "suspected gang members." I'll use this phrase if it makes you happy. We can focus on one or two of these "suspected gang members." The ones I have looked into the most are Andry Jose Hernandez Romero and Jerce Reyes Barrios. The evidence against them is SHOCKINGLY flimsy and, in Andry's case, does not even add up to the governments own point system. So yet another "administrative error" even by your own standards!! Why do I call the evidence flimsy? *Both men are under suspicion for having CROWN TATTOOS. This would not pass muster in any court of law. *Ronna Risquez, the premier expert on Tren de Aragua in Venezuela (a woman who gets death threats from Tren de Aragua and is not in the habit of helping gang bangers) has repeatedly said that Venezuelan gangs DO NOT USE TATTOOS AS IDENTIFIERS. Just because Salvadoran gangs may does not mean Venezuelan gangs do!! For what it's worth, it seems that this screening criteria started under Biden, so there is plenty of blame to go around. *The other piece of evidence against Jerce is a social media photo with his hands in what has to be the most common photo pose among little kids in the universe. If one such photo were reliable evidence of gang membership, my guess is that any one of our kids between age 7 and 17 would be in jail. If there is any other evidence against these two, please present it. I know that there isn't because I have read court filings.
