We are hamstrung by state mandated days off, employment contracts, discord if some religions get holidays off but not others, people who insist that we can’t start school earlier in August because they absolutely must take their vacations in August, testing schedules that require instruction to be completed weeks before the school year ends. There is no calendar that will please the vast majority of stakeholders. We’re all going to dislike some aspect of a schedule that has to meet all of these demands. [/quote]
