There are jobs that Americans simply won't take, even the long term unemployed - particularly in the ag sector but also assembly line jobs. And a lot of the layoffs in white collar sectors mean people cannot support their families on blue collar wages. People are not fungible like that. It's fun to say "well they should sell their houses and move for a factory job" but that's not what happens in reality. (That's also why federal layoffs will not fix the teacher shortage, BTW.)[/quote]
