I’ve actually thought of this before. The only reason he became a republican politician is that he realized that was a character he could play. He would have loved to hang with the liberal elite, Hollywood types and have their endorsements. But that was never going to happen. Maybe if they had given him the slightest reason to believe he could be one of them, none of this would have happened. [/quote]
Agree. I've said this before. He knows it's easier to manipulate Rs than Dems. That's one of the reasons he switched from D to R.

But, it's not just the Hollywood elite he courted. He also wanted to be in with the NY elite, but they didn't want him, either.  Too crass and stupid.[/quote]
