I agree with most of this — it really should not be only Jews' responsibility to speak out against this, and our synagogues generally don't make public statements on political matters of any kind (though many rabbis do, and have). The alleged antisemitism as the ostensible reason for these deportations is also an example of people using Jews for political purposes.

I will say, though, I don't agree with deporting the Brown professor, even if she did attend Nasrallah's funeral. [/quote]
